Postcard from Vienna and Holland

My Aunt Fae and Uncle Ken (brother to my great-grandmother) traveled all over the world. I’ve heard some wonderful stories about them growing up and now, especially as the family genealogist, I LOVE that my great-grandmother kept some of the postcards that Fae sent while they were overseas. My great-grandparents did eventually join them in Germany, where Ken was stationed I believe.

Having a wonderful four days in Vienna Austria – wish you were here. Saw the Lipizzan horses – wonderful – I owe you a letter – but am thinking of you with love.

When are you going to get your passports so you can begin to enjoy this with us? Took a bus tour to the Peace Palace today. A canal boat ride was very enjoyable – Gladly go again when you arrive.

I agree! I do love writing regular letters still and getting them in the mail. 🙂

  2. What great keepsakes. These are great!

These are great; what a wonderful keepsake to have. I often browse postcards in junk shops. I love reading what people have written on the back and wondering about the relationship implied in the text. 🙂

      That sounds like fun!

It is; don’t know if I should be worried about taking such a vicarious interest in strangers’ lives though 🙂

Ha! I’d say that there’s nothing to worry about. Especially since that sounds like something I’m going to look for now 🙂

Thanks! I have to warn you though; it’s an activity that totally eats time. 🙂
