I meant to publish a post yesterday but I was quite exhausted and didn’t get the chance to proof it to the extent I like. It’ll just come next week! On to my favorite weekly post: this week in genealogy!
Webinars/Videos
- The U.S. National Archives streamed live “Know Your Records: Early Naturalization Records from New England States 1790-1906.” If you missed it, you can view the program here
- “Autosomal DNA – a step by step approach to analysing your atDNA matches,” by Maurice Gleeson. The audio isn’t the best (you can hear a lot of people talking in the background) but the speaker is still clear. It’s 55 minutes long.
- Two book reviews by EOGN: one on Mind Maps for Genealogy by Ron Arons and one on A Page of History – Passport Applications 1851-1914 by Phil Goldfarb.
. Articles/Blog Posts
- Humans of (old) New York 1896 from my favorite website of Retronaut on Mashable!
- Also from that same website, 1890s-1950s Last of the Civil War Veterans.
- The International Conference on Jewish Genealogy extended their early registration to May 6th! Take advantage if you plan on going. 🙂
- FamilySearch has a free online book collection found here and they just reached a huge milestone! They have 200,000 books online! Read more about this collection here.
