This was the 70’s I’d bet. The man sitting is my great-grandpa, Frederick Langeneck (don’t you love his mustache???). Then the back row from L to R is my dad (The tie dad… the tie… – when I commented on this to my mom she got very defensive. Apparently she bought that for my dad and loved it), my Uncle Fritz (my grandpa’s brother), my grandpa, and my Uncle John (another brother). So that is my mom’s dad, her uncles, her grandpa, and her husband. Can you tell that besides my dad, all those men are related? There is no doubt who their father is! I love this picture but wish I could have gotten a better scan of it!

One of my favorite collages at my parent’s house is one my mom has of the Detroit Zoo over the years. Like many kids, we always loved going to the zoo. Our city had it’s own zoo but going to the Detroit Zoo was an adventure! I don’t remember any of it of course, but I love these pictures from over the years.
I love that these pictures have been taken at the same place over the years! My nephews LOVE the zoo and I’ve gone with them before too. They are great tour guides 🙂 My views on zoos are a bit different than they used to be but the Detroit Zoo is quite impressive.
This picture is captioned as 8th grade graduation. The young woman in the center, in front of the diplomas, is related to me. She looks like my grandmother who was born in 1932 so that would make this the mid 1940’s. Anyone know what date this photo could be from? It reminds me of the 1920’s but I am not good at this just yet. If it was the 1920’s, then I’d say that was probably my grandmother’s mom instead. Guesses?
(Either way, I LOVE this picture.)
